• You may even take their advice while choosing the fabrics, accessories and collectibles for their room but make sure they are child-safe, do not have sharp edges, easy to clean and are unbreakable.
• Multi-functional and versatile furniture pieces that can serve for entertaining, reading, sleeping and hiding toys and dirty clothes are an asset in a kids' room.
• Kids need a lot of storage space so opt for more and more shelves and racks, plastic and transparent containers, baskets and closets to make space for keeping their clothes, drop their socks, books, shoes, playthings and other accessories.
• Use a single versatile cheap fabric for pillows, lampshades, bed ruffles and quilts for a harmonious look.
• Long curtains and draperies may trip a child so opt for shorter curtains, shades and windows that are simplistic. You may add artistic valances made by children to encourage them to keep their room look beautiful and have a feeling of accomplishment.
• Nightlight, task light or a study lamp for doing homework and soothing light for relaxing is a must.
